Second Citizen

I have heard from Indians living abroad in countries like States, UK that they feel they are the second citizen of the country. Thats bad on the one hand but logical on the another. You actually are not a citizen of that particular country. What if some feel same living in India, our own country. At least I dont have any logic or reasoning for that. So, I can say its just bad. I will try to narrate one particular incident.

Last to last night, I had a good sleep after many nights and I was full of energy yesterday. The result was, all five of us decided to bike. We planned to go to Karavarhalli hills passing nandi hills so that we could get a view of nandi too. We left around 3 pm evening. We left the highway by taking a turn for nandi hills. The road was better this time. After riding for some distance I heard from one of my co-biker screaming and saying some guys in the car behind us are trying to mess with us. Skoda Octavia, loaded with some drunken guys. How we know they were drunk is the way they were driving and few of them also holding KF cans. We then decided to stop by a small shop to let them go ahead and then we could ride in peace. Just behind my bike I heard horn from the car in question. They also stopped behind us. I then just moved my bike forward and parked. I was not scared at that time. We asked for a bottle of Coke from the shopkeeper. They were asking some cigarettes from the shopkeeper. They had increased the volume of their music system. I had a close look inside the car and there were 5 of them all seemed southians and at that point to time I could say I was a little scared. We were waiting for them to move forward but they were just waiting there too. May be they wanted to hit our bikes while riding and make us land with some good injuries. One of them, the driver, called us and our friend(chakresh) went to talk to them. They asked him what language do you speak, He said, without fear, I dont know Kannada. Only hindi and English. Then they asked him whether/where you work or study. After sometime they left and I had a chance to listen to their deeds with my friends. They actually tried to hit one of the bikes. it was close. my friends sitting on the bikes screamed at them. from then onwards they started messing with them.

They are gone.

The question revolving around us was whether we should continue to ride forward. We were sort of scared for sure. They had a big car. If they would hit us during hill climbing, no way our bodies could be found. They were drunk. Still we decided to move forward and we started. Half way through the hills, We had some discussion and and took a U-turn. The discussion involved we five being short, thin, sober and them being exactly opposite. The scenes that were to be seen from the top and enjoy, we had to compromise and admire them from a little up from the bottom.I even took some snaps.

We could not make it to the top.
We could not do what we wanted to.
We were still afraid of being caught and hit by those .........

Why did they ask what language do we speak? What would have happened if at least one of us would be speaking Kannada, I guess their response would be "enjoy maadi".May be they would offer us some drink too.

We were afraid of two reasons mainly . 1) Not being southians 2)They with a big car and we with bikes.

I dont know how logical our fear of not being southians was. What I do know is I was scared. In my own country. like a second citizen.

Dude..you can even live like a second citizen in your own home....if u dont have courage to go for what you want...you gotta be man enough to dare to what you believe is right...you just gotta do dat..coz...A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day...this was a day to fight...fight for your rights...for your freedom and for your dreams...so pls dont be a sissy bout being a second citizen...it was bcoz of pussies like u dat fucking Britishers ruled...so wake the men inside u...its all bout PRIDE AND HONOR OF MEN
